The Roof Of Your Tiki Bar

One of the biggest problems in building a tiki bar is just finding the roof, but this can be simple if you use straw. Most plant places and even home depot carry the straw we are looking for here. I personally think the straw looks better. Keep that in mind when looking for your roofing material, seek out straw!

Building Your Own Tiki Bar

Here are a few things to consider when building your own tiki bar:

-Understand that a countertop is not 100% needed, you can easily use cheap table clothes. You need to remember that a tiki bar signals a party type of atmosphere in most cases. So you can get away with using materials like this and even have a nicer tiki bar!

-Remember that the larger the bar the higher the construction cost!

-You can build Tiki Bars and resale them for mega bucks, they go from anywhere from $800 to thousands. Many people make a living building and resaling Tiki Bars, so it can be a profitable and fun business.

-Finding the roof material is often the hardest part of tiki bar building, but if you live in a fairly large city or near the coast this shouldnt be a problem. You can always turn to ebay if worse comes to worse or use straw which is very easy to find and fairly inexpensive!

Building a Tiki Bar

First thing you need to do is get a good foundation, a regular table would work fine for this. The roof of the tiki hut can be made from large leaves or palm fronds if you can find them, attached to a piece of light plywood, or you can buy ready made thatched grass panels. YOu just need to use your imganiation for the rest, I will be making a post soon on some other techniques to build a tiki hut. Check back soon.

Welcome To The Tiki Party
